Individual, Couple & Family Therapy
Besides helping with recent and long-standing concerns or difficulties, individual therapy can also play an important role in personal growth/exploration, improving one’s functioning, assisting during life changes/transitions, providing clarity and finding purpose, getting through a difficult period of time, enhancing one’s quality of life, and developing one’s spirituality.
I maintain a diverse practice working with people in English and Spanish who seek assistance for a wide array of concerns/hopes related to:

Therapy is most effective when there is a “good fit” between oneself and the therapist. I am thoughtful, interactive, empathic, and insightful. People find me easy to relate to. I think holistically and consider the ways that biological, psychological, relational, social, cultural, and religious/spiritual factors might be contributing to one’s difficulties, as well as how these realms can also be used as helpful resources.
The people with whom I work continually demonstrate the capacity that all of us have for healing, feeling better, changing, growing, having fulfilling relationships, and living joyfully.
My work is informed by a variety of perspectives I utilize in order to understand and address each person’s unique situation. I draw largely from Contemporary Psychodynamic theories like: Object-relations, Self-psychology, Control-Mastery, and Relational theory because of the depth of understanding they provide and their capacity to bring about deep, lasting change. My work is also influenced by the philosophy and practice of Aikido, an art that I have trained in for many years.
