Education
I graduated in 1988 from the University of California, Santa Cruz Phi Beta Kappa, with College Honors, and Highest Honors in the Major for my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I received my M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in 1993. While attending Smith, I received one of the two Patricia Roberts Harris’ Awards given to students in my class. In 2001, I completed the first year of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program through the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, San Francisco Extension.
In 2010, I completed the requirements to be a Facilitator/Trainer on the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children with the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL). I returned to Smith College School for Social Work for their certificate program in Advanced Contemplative Practice, which I completed in April 2012.
